A Sea Day October 12

Well another sea day!! We had a leisurely breakfast at the Ocean Cafe buffet,

and then we went on a tour of the galley, a walk-through of the kitchen prep areas for the dining room. It was so interesting to see how they feed 3000 people three meals a day! And the meals are delicious, piping hot, and served by the most pleasant staff. There are 63 countries represented by the staff on the Celebrity Solstice and each one of them is pleasant and good at their job!! What a wonderful ship! So, back to the galley tour, here is a chart of information on how many meals, etc. they serve...

And here are some photos of the tour:

After the tour we went to the Captain’s Club Welcome Party. Because we have cruised many times with Celebrity we have gained status as members of the ‘Captain’s Club’. Each cruise they have a few invitation- only events for members of this club. Today was the welcome event, so off we went. And we took Rainbow Dash (our 4 year old grand daughter’s stuffy that she has sent along on this trip) to this event. Rainbow Dash had her photo taken with two of the Captains!! It was a nice event with beverages, appetizers and some welcoming comments.

After the welcome party we went to Bingo, and had fun but didn’t win the $44,000 jackpot; actually no one won it!! Then we had dinner in the BLU restaurant, and the attended the show in the Theatre, featuring the Oz Boys of Motown (we had seen them before, but they were new to Terry). A great show, again.

We attended the Captain’s Soirée which was a lot of fun, crowded, loud music, and lots of dancing!

And then we were done! Crashed in our room. A fun day at sea. That’s a wrap for today. More to come, Carol on the go....
