October 13 Melbourne, Australia

October 13 Melbourne, Australia, city tour, hop on/off bus

October 13, Melbourne, Australia

We were up early, a quick breakfast in the Ocean Cafe, and then we were off the ship to explore Melbourne, Australia. Sharon went off in another direction, so Terry and I caught a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus and spent the next few hours travelling around Melbourne, listening to the commentary/overview of the city, and seeing the sights. It was a great way to see as much as we could in the one day that we were there!

The Melbourne Marathon was happening today, so there were about 50,000 more people in the city than usual, participants and visitors for the marathon. The bus had a couple of re-routes because of this, which was not a problem at all, but we did manage to see the runners at one point.

There was so much to see...a beautiful city!

We got off the bus a couple of times, once to shop at the largest outdoor market in the Southern Hemisphere, the Queen Victoria Market! Oh my! We did some shopping here!!

And the second time to walk around the South Warf, and stop in to a local pup for a beer! And then we headed back to the ship where we watched the sail away from our deck.

Dinner at the BLU Restaurant was another fabulous meal...

Watched the sun set...

Danced a little, Sharon found a few beautiful children to share the dance music...

And then we were done! Again!! Retired to our rooms and had a great sleep, after a fun filled and memorable day in Melbourne, Australia!! That’s a wrap, more to come, Carol on the go...
